Terms of Service

Effective 2026-06-14

1. Service

Pythia Drug & Food Safety provides information about FDA drug and food recalls and drug adverse-event reports, via API and Model Context Protocol endpoints, drawn from the FDA's openFDA datasets. It is an informational data service only.

2. Not medical advice

All recall, side-effect, and adverse-event information is informational and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. It is not medical advice and must not be used to make medical, clinical, treatment, diagnostic, or regulatory decisions. Adverse-event reports are spontaneous and unverified, are subject to reporting bias, and do not establish causation or measure incidence. Recall records are point-in-time snapshots and are not updated after initial classification. Always consult a qualified health professional and official FDA sources before acting.

3. Permitted use

Use the service lawfully. You may not use it as a substitute for professional medical judgment or to issue public safety alerts. We may suspend access for misuse.

4. Accounts & API keys

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe and may be cancelled anytime, effective at the end of the billing period, at /manage. API keys and OAuth tokens are personal; do not share or resell access.

5. Data & availability

Data is sourced from the FDA's openFDA (public domain) and provided "as is" without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or availability. Pythia is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

6. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pythia's total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the preceding three months. We are not liable for decisions made using the service.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
